Hi there!

I'm here to announce that the 83+ port of my 83 game, TInymon, is finally done!
TInymon is a turn-based monster-collecting RPG greatly "inspired" by the first release of a popular game series. Capture, train and battle monsters while exploring cities and landmarks on the journey to become the best trainer in all of TInyworld!

This a bit more than just a regular port though. Since the 83+ gives access to so much more memory I was able to add features I had planned for the original release but couldn't implement due to size constraints, making this port a Director's cut of sorts!

All the extra features are fluff/polish. More text here and there, fancy graphics, a couple of secrets but the core gameplay remains untouched which means it's possible to trade and battle against the original 83 release! Massive shoutouts to Merth and Adriweb for helping me test the multiplayer code!

The game is available at http://ceme.tech/DL2606 (As I'm writing this, the file is pending approval)
The source code (as unreadable as it is) is available at https://gitlab.com/_targz/tinymondx

Enjoy Smile
Very cool! I haven't played the full game yet, but I did enjoy battling my calculators against each other! It's great to see the 83+ get a game released in 2025! I'm going to put the release version on my calc and see if I can catch 'em some!
I see that it is a great game, but when I load it on my trusty ti84+ emulator, I can't fight any battles, as it directly goes to the "KO" screen.
Is this because the ti84+ and the ti83+ have some subtle differences?
10/10 graphics. You really have some talent for managing to make monochrome 96x64 graphics look appealing.

I tested this release on an 84+, it should work fine, just sounds like you need to go heal your monsters to me Smile

If that doesn't work, it might be that you've somehow created a save file without any monsters, you should create a new save by selecting "new" in the main menu
Maybe add a section dedicated to the creation of save files?
The feature in the game is very blurry, as I don't know what to do after naming the save file.

Edit: Oh, my fault. I forgot to press enter all the time. Very Happy Very Happy
Wow, great game! Had a lot of fun playing it! Very Happy
