So, since they're all z80 chips anyways, it probably wouldn't make much of a difference, even for asm?

But then, are any but teh 83+/84+ OSes replaceable that are z80? (as in not 89/92/V200, which are replaceable but are also 68k)
i'm just saying that changes will need to be applied to low-level parts of the code, regardless of the language.

KOS IIRC works on all z80 calc models that are commonly used. it still has changes to the drivers, but they use different 8xu's...
It works on 73-84+ SE, which I'm pretty sure are the only flashable models.
