0x5, I wonder when that was.

And btw, what timezone are you in, Swivel? Don't you have school?
Don't you have the day off today? It's Veteran's Day.
over here people and medias qualify bush as the world #1 terrorist and says the irak war was a genocide. This is different for our conservative government though, who support bush in war. I won't go too much in this debate though

Day off? Ha, think again. We didn't even get Columbus Day off.
Nobody gets Columbus day off...(well, the people in MA do...)
Whoops, I forgot it was a holiday. I get christmas day off(have to go the 26th, though). I get thanksgiving day off, too. Maybe if we're lucky we'll get new years day.
Laughing Half the school won't even be in town on the 26th.
Rolling Eyes Aaanyway, getting this back ontopic....
Perhaps someone should start a Midterm Elections topic in the Politics subforum.

I was under the impression that Veteran's day was the 11th. Which is on a Saturday this year(at least where I live Very Happy )
Then again, maybe my school told everybody that so we wouldn't complain...
It is in fact on Saturday, but some places observe it today.
Isn't that clip kinda... really old... like at least a couple years?
That clip is from the 70s or 80s...

...? How is that possible? Unless that's Bush Sr.

Bush Jr. isn't exactly young Rolling Eyes He was born in 1946, so in the 70s and 80s he'd be 24-34. I could easily see him being ~30s in that video
now this is awesome... a perfect symbolization of our president. i say that THIS is why communism and socialism seem like such good forms of government.

bush really needs to like gain 3 pounds in the head

Which is why there has never been a true communist government to date? Because it is the "holy grail" of governments? Neither socialism nor communism sound good at all. But I must ask, how does this video equate to communism and socialism sounding like good governments? You judge our government based on the actions of G.W. Bush, who, at the time of this video, was not the president?

I think it is funny, and if anything, I have more respect for Bush after seeing this video than I did before (not that I necessarily respect and/or approve of him)
a very good point. however as a study has shown modern democracy isnt all that an ideal democracy is supposed to be. in a true democracy everyones vote counts and everyones vote counts equally. is it like this in the us? i think that it isnt because 1. just think about how many times states have voted for one president although the people voted for the other. does this signify that someones vote counts more? also 2. there are so many people in the world that it isnt possible for all of them to count. even in the "slimmest" of margins the margin is about 300,000 votes. now tell me if you didnt vote in there and it was only 299,999 votes do you really think that it would make a difference in the electoral college? what i am saying is that although there has never been a true communism or socialism in my opinion there really hasnt been a true democracy either.

im sorry if you consider this a flame but i wanted to voice my opinion.
And thats why the US is not classified as a democracy, but rather as a republic. More specifically, CIA's own world factbook classifies the US as a "Constitution-based federal republic" ( https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/us.html ) However, there have been 'true' democracies and republics in the past (there might be some now - I don't care enough to look)
