Today I started programming a new game in C: Candy Crush, a very popular game amongst everyone who have nothing to do in their life. Anyway, here's a first screenie; so far only creating a random board and swapping candies is done:
I need to work on matching candies, end-checking, more levels, animations, lifes, chocolate (!) and what more. I will promise to finish this game, in contrary to many others of mine!
The main game has 2 tilemaps, one background (which is the dark blue ground) and one foreground tilemap, containing all the candies. It first draws the background tilemap, then eventually a light blue rectangle when you selected a candy, then the foreground tilemap and lastly the cursor.

How many levels are you planning?
Looks cool!
The speed at which it currently runs is great. Will be interesting to see if you can include some cool effects and such too down the track
.
Are you planning on having any background imagery as well?
Also will this game feature in-app transactions? *runs*

Each level is worth 124 bytes (11x11 + 3), so if I have one big appvar with all the implemented levels, it can hold over 500 levels

Thanks! Yes, animations is surely a thing I want to implement, which makes it more fancy Yes, there will be a background image, as well as a start menu, but that's not my focus currently.
Maybe make a lite version that has static stuff (For space) and an animated version for people who can spare the space?
I totally missed this, it is a good thing it is featured in the “project of the month”. It looks good already!
Wow. This forum is from January. Have you finished what you wanted to finish? Or did you move onto other things and leave candy crush behind?

Sounds a bit rude...
Allow me to rephrase...

Hahahaha nope. I didn't have the time to do any calc-related stuff the past 2 months, and for now it doesn't look like that's going to be different the next 2 months. I certainly do plan on picking this up again, but I'm not sure when.
