http://www.mobifiles.de got the data this time; I must credit
http://www.ticalcs.net , who got it from them. It sounds like TI has done their usual pitiful software job, but surprisingly the hardware also has problems (3-4 hour calculator battery life? That's worse than my laptop). Check out the original (translated) article:

He hurt his hand?!?!!?! That will suck for the BASIC programmers out there!
Maby they dilberately put the 4HR battery life on this thing so that kids who would be tempted to play games on it in class won't because it would be dead by math. Maby TI grew a brain. Also, it probabally is a rechargeable battery.
It better be a rechargeable bettry. I think the low battery life is due to the fact that they probably made it massively overpowered as a calculator; in order to be competitive with HP, it looks like it's more PDA than calculator.
meh, I dont even have a 68k yet, Im not real worried about the generation after it....
Same. I hope they keep the z80 line for a nice long time though; I need to be able to proliferate Doors CS for years to come.
Wasn't there a Z80 emulator released for the 89? Maby you could port DCS to a program(Non app) and then we could use it on the 89's!?! Wait, then it still would only run Z80 programs, and where would it get the VAT from, and oh no, I've gone crosseyed.
That's a terrible idea. If I were to make a 68k version, it would undoubtedly be a native app.
no offense Kerm, but atm, it seems that most new games are nostub C programs. If you could right a TSR shell/kernel that had so much more to offer than PreOS and other shells, and continued updating, I think people would start considering using the shell.
It just seems to me that on 68ks it's easier to do nostub. I don't have a clue how to make an app, a TSR, or at the very least a kernal dependent program
o.O I thought I pressed Cancel on my post. I knew it was a bad idea.
Liazon: oh, I certainly agree; that's why I'm not really planning on expanding to 68ks with DCS any time soon.
Here is a link on Education.Ti.com that is in English Natively.

All of the current photos look photoshopped though.
Edit:Crap...

Powered by 4 AAA batteries.
...and that's why I bought 4 nice rechargable AAAs, although that is some pretty horrible design for only 4 hours of battery life.
Are you kidding me?! It uses AAA batteries for a 3-4 hour battery life? That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Tsk tsk, TI.
I have been using rechargeable AAA's for about 4 years. They are starting to wear out though.

They're probably NiCads or NiMHs, eh? Those don't last for too many cycles.
NIMHes, but I use my calculator in conjunction with Omnicalc as an Alarmclock, so I recharge them almost every day. Well, except for days when I don't have school. Also, I need to start using my regular alarmclock...
I seriously recommend getting some LiIon's
Much longer life...
Mine are some NiMHs, too, but I only recharge them once every couple months, so I'm good for a while. It's certainly cheaper than regular AAAs.
LiIons have more power and can be recharged more times
