I'm not really concerned with running assembly programs (thank god for arTIfiCE), but I really just would like a way to play ti-basic games that are in my archive.

But, you don't need a shell to do that anymore, as long as you have OS 5.3 or later.
Although I had started a Doors CS for the TI-84 Plus CE, I never released it, and at this point, I don't anticipate doing so. The tool I'd really like to create at some point is all of the BASIC libraries that Doors CSE provides, for the TI-84 Plus CE, including xLIBC, Celtic III CE (happily that exists now!), and the DCSB libraries.
