I'm having an issue with a TI-83 Plus Silver Edition I received today. The issue I am having is that every time I turn it on it resets RAM and it only stays on for a few seconds. Every time I try to do anything with it it just turns off. I did manage to memory reset it and it started to work fine for longer than it had, but then it started doing the same thing again. Has anyone had similar issues and/or a solution to this problem?

Btw, I did have the same problem with a TI-84 Plus and I fixed it by taking it apart and putting it back together (basically luck).

Any help is appreciated.
Sounds like a power problem. Do you have fresh batteries installed? Are the battery terminal contacts clear of corrosion?
Here's a pic of the contacts:

Don't think that is the issue. I have new batteries in it.

It works for a minute, but then whenever I press [CLEAR] or the Arrow keys or I try to do too much with it, it turns off and resets.
That's almost definitely a power issue. Are there any components that look damaged? Have you tried directly powering it off a regulated 5-6v power supply?

Nothing looks damaged as far as I can tell.

How would I go about powering it off a power supply?
Yeah, I don't see any obvious damage. For a power supply, I would do this:

Strip a usb cord down to the red and black
Plug on end of the cord into a computer/wall adapter (the calc uses very little power, so the computer would work fine)
Use alligator clips and paperclips to connect the red and black wires form the usb to the + and - terminals of the calculator, sticking the paperclips behind the springs that hold the batteries in place (remember to take the batteries out first)

I couldn't find a usb cable so I used a 9V battery (which doesn't fit in the parameters), but it worked anyways. I created a program with a while loop and it still turns off if you press the clear button or the right arrow key too many times.
9v is too much! Do not do that to your calc!

Interesting about the arrow keys though....

I have no clue what's going on.
Looks to me like the contacts for the battery are worn through. Try moving the spring clips a tiny bit to be not on the worn out parts of the copper pads. Thats what it seems like to me.

A quick test would be to turn it on then flex the calculator a bit, like grab the top and the bottom and then flex the case a little and see what happens.

Nope. Didn't work. :/

I saw someone online who had battery issues use solder to cover up the corrosion on the contacts so I tried that and it's still doing the same thing.

Also, I've noticed that sometimes before it turns off it says something like "ERR: LINK" Not exactly sure what that means, but I thought it could be relevant.

Edit: It also gives "ERR: MEMORY"
If I press the DEL button enough times just when it's on, it goes to the OS loading screen.
