Ok heres what i want my AI's to be able to do
1. Move (duh)
2.Fire (duh again)
3. Be able to take cover behind obstacles
4. Interect with wepons (like using a machine gun)
5. And if low on health run away and look for some.
This might be hard...But i can do number 1. and 3.
Need help on the others

You're working with a rectangular matrix, correct? How is it encoded? What variables are you using for the AI and player's position, status, etc?
What do you mean by retanglur matrix...I'm not using a matrix to build my map. I'm using strings. Could you explain what a retanglur matrix is though so i know in the future.
Player position is varibles A(y postion) and B(x postion)
AI Postion are Y(y positon) and X(x postion)

I mean a matrix in the sense of a group of data that can be arranged in rows and columns in this instance. A string, fair enough. In order to be rectangular, it just needs to have a nonprime length for this application, since you need n>1 columns and n>1 rows
OOOO! well i get it now. Pretty neat but its best i stick to strings.

if so how? i know you can do text sprites but those kinda look cheep. I mean how do you make real cool looking graphical maps?

Well, I am doing it, in Age of Darkness Revenge, but... It is all in BASIC, no asm help, except a program to help with all the programs that will need to be archived.
Otherwise you can use xlib and matrices. That would be the fastest way to deal with it...
If you want, I can do some more explaining on my method in basic...
