At long last, I think I'm gonna be purchasing myself a comp off eBay. Here's what I'm thinking; feel free to give me feedback:
:: Max Price: $900 + shipping
:: Type: convertible tablet notebook
:: OS: win xp tablet pc edition
:: Minimum RAM: 512mb
:: Minimum CPU: 1.5GHz Centrino
:: Screen size: 10" or 12" diagonal
:: keyboard: 85% fullsize minimum
:: hd: 40 or 60gb minimum
:: optical: CDRW/DVD-ROM; external or internal
:: max weight: 6lb + adapter and [optical drive]
:: wireless: wifi b/g, [bluetooth]
:: battery life: 3hrs min
:: manufacturer: averatec, acer, hp, ibm/lenovo, toshiba, other?
[stuff] = optional
That sounds cool! A lot better than what I currently have laptop wise...
I am gonna have a new comp built, I just need $50 more...
Sounds good! I'd spring for the internal CD-Drive though.
nice..nice..
although next time you list CPU, put Pentium M, as "Centrino" is a platform, not a CPU
Oh woops,
:: CPU: Pentium M
:: Chipset: Intel Centrino
i wouldn't necessarily focus on just getting a "Centrino" comp anyway, as there are much better WiFi chips that aren't made by intel, and focusing on the whole "Centrino Hype" is just going to limit your options, and not necessarily give you the best (performance or bang-for-buck)
screen seems a tad small, but for a tablet i guess it ain't bad...
Get a Compaq.
I have dropped mine 3 times from varying heights and it still works...
@Kllrnohj: Small screen because I want a small case and small overall comp, since I'd probably carry it just about everywhere.
@TI-Freak: they also have good prices
So other than that, do my specs sound reasonable? Do you guys mind if I post up links of possible models that meet my specs for feedback? If not,

eek, my friends compaq sucks sooo bad....
i've never had a good experience with a compaq
@Kerm: that toshiba looks good...buy it
Hmmm, I'm noticing some $0.99 ones with only a few hours left, and NR apparently...are these scams?

who cares? it'll only cost $0.99 to find out
It looks good...
I dunno, I am looking at them...
You might also give pricewatch.com a lookover. They have all kinds of stuff...
I have dropped my laptop three feet on a few ocasions, no damage whatsoever. I have a panasonic
But it is a toughbook
I'm still looking at possibilities; I want to make sure the GFX is DirectX9 compatible for Blockland.
That first link is no longer displayed...

Pricewatch.com looks interesting, but I think I'll stick with the PayPalness of ebay.
Watch out for Paypal... If you don't have enough money in your account, they will go at your accound twice, giveing you 2 NSF charges... Paypal screwed me out of $50... I have one more item that I am going to buy, then I am deleting my paypal account...
Huh, I'll double-check that, thanks for warning me.
Not a problem. I emailed paypal about it, and they said it was my problem, not theirs...
SO as far as buying anything else, it will have to happen with a check or money order...
Also, the guy that is going to build my comp is gonna recheck the prices, and if they are close to the same, then he is gonna start building my computer.
Those look really good! I am half tempted to put a bid on the first one...
My comp that is gonna have a 3ghz proccessor, with nearly the same things as it lists, just for desktop, not laptop...
Besides, mine will be brand new, for ~500, while those type of laptops go for well over that amount...
