So, what is going on? Is there a new address to go to? Am I whitelisted on 1.7? Can I help build nifty things?

There is a new address, but it's temporarily only for building spawn until Bukkit gets 1.7 a bit more stable and more of our plugins become ready for 1.7. I asked the above questions to get feedback on what we'll be building before I open the floodgates by whitelisting people tomorrow.
I can come on for a little tomorrow to be a part of this remarkable day (: I have finals this next week unfortunately and I am up to my head in it. I otherwise would be on all weekend long. Will this creative spawn building still be going on next weekend perhaps?

Side note: I see a witch hut I believe in the swamp near spawn, and I would like to make a witch farm out of it for everyone to be able to use, similarly to my MMM I have running. It would give us a very great supply of redstone and glowstone, as well as a few other things. This would make it so we can leave more of the glowstone in the nether alone so it looks nicer in there, and we can use it to our heart's desire. So if anyone runs by that little wood shack, don't tear that down, so we'll know exactly where the witches spawn Razz
So Pizzabboy, Abrum, CVSoft, CharlesSprinkles, and I have been working hard on the new spawn. The building you spawn into when you first visit the server is nearly complete, and the main plaza where the spawn "city" buildings will be has begun. Feel free to come and help!

Thanks! I'm very happy with its use for the roofs and upper-floor windows, but the gang created a bunch of ideas for the windows of the main floor of that building. We still need to decide which final design to use.

the "path from stairs to center area" is a bit bland, are we able to spiffy it up a bit? maybe some arches?

the spawn looks like it is in a savanna area, based on those trees. the center area is beautiful with the spiderweb design, and matches the landscape

Did Kerm always have a tie?

stairs to ground 3 == lots of falling death for me. either by skeletons, or my own clumsyness. what fun.

@Kerm: will the statistics page be updated to the new map soon, and can i secure some building rights on the new server?
I've mentioned this to a few of us, but to officially put it out on here where everyone can see... how about we have an MC building party this coming weekend? Work on spawn for hours on end, adding anything to make it look awesome and work out all the details so we can get a lot closer to starting up the map (: I will very likely be on regardless, so whoever is up to join!

Hmmm it could use a little more. I'll do some testing with some of that to see if anything looks cool and flows swimmingly (: Will report back with some updates soon. Perhaps later today if I get enough time, but otherwise this coming weekend.
Thursdays from 6~ish to 8~ish (iffy, but doable last time i checked) and every sunday morning at 8 o'clock. I would love to join, though i still need building rights from Kerm. just walking around would be nice to explore the map, since the dynmap is still set for low resolution. also, are we in creative? the map borders are set extremely tiny.
While I would love to say that we did it all in survival, we did it in creative Razz If you have already been whitelisted by Kerm, then from the spawning platform, you'll spawn in, and assume the direction you initally face is 12 o'clock. Look toward 1-2 o'clock, and sprint-jump off the platform and keep going forward while falling. You should find the creative mode building if you agree to the rules on the spawning platform.

Thanks! We are trying to make it feel massive and imposing without losing the modern look. AHelper has come to help bring his significant railroad experience to bear on the problem of queuing and sorting carts going both ways, so we're making good progress.
Since bukkit is lacking in official MC commands, I might make a bukkit plugin that gives command blocks the /testforblock and /setblock commands.

I will post screenies of my FIFO switchers tomorrow for the rails.

I just finished the command block plugin for bukkit 1.7.2 R0.1 that adds testforblock and setblock. I can send it to you if you want.
It looks real nice! I like the Modern theme, and also the rail system. I strove to help, but it seems this isn't a good fit for me. Smile (Meaning I cannot be on enough and do not want to invade the plans of others.) But good job; looks a lot better than before. I only hope we don't make spawn take over too much of the total map...
With Ahelper's design and a little bit of creative Input from me, we have a track design. I have spread it to two ends of the map; I will need to paste it towards the other two edges and come up with a design for a station. Also, roaming through our map, we have a lot of really beautiful terrain.
