I have decided to upgrade to a TI-89 Titanium calculator for college, and I want to keep some of the physics/calculus programs I wrote for my TI-84. However, the TI-84 programs used Symbolic/Omnicalc/PrettyPrint.

1) Is the TI Basic language for the TI-89 essentially the same as that of the TI-84?

2) If so, how can I convert the programs for TI-89, and will I be able to change all of the "real(19," (this is PrettyPrint) to something useable on the TI-89?

Thanks in advance!
There are some similarities, but also many differences. Basic things like the way text output is done use similar commands, but behave quite a bit different. It really depends on what kind of code you're trying to transfer.

If you have any code snippets in particular, we might be able to try to help you with the conversion.

I'm not too familiar with the 84+ series, and know nothing about PrettyPrint or “real(19”. Hopefully someone else can explain it. Wink

I haven't heard about a program translator so far, but as he said, we can help you to translate them.

Cheers!

Umm... Disp and Output on the TI-89 pretty-prints math expressions if the MathPrint mode is on.

This is probably one of the best tutorials for the 89.
Also, you can look in the 68k section of the TI-Basic developer (http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/68k:home).
