So I'm not that sure where to post this because it's not that much of a joke because it is real but it's still funny, basically theres a rewards program by ti, and they give earrings. (not only earrings they also give other things)

so i noticed that theres this little cutout thing on the side of my TI-84 + CE python's box, that said something like "ti technology rewards program 40 points" and also it said something like "learn more at [i forgot website name but whatever]"

so i made a mental note in my head to go there sometime and then i forgot about it
but then i finally went there and it's kind of cursed

https://education.ti.com/en/product-resources/volume-purchase-plan-accord#choose

so the rewards that they offer at the top of the page are pretty reasonable: calculators and accessories,
(also theres professional development sessions)

BUT THEN THEY OFFER "SWAG" (https://education.ti.com/en/product-resources/volume-purchase-plan-accord#swag)

there's a "Graphing Calculator Buddy Pillow"
https://education.ti.com/en/product-resources/volume-purchase-plan-accord#lightbox=trp-calc-buddy-pillow
and finally...
"TI-84 Plus CE Earrings"
https://education.ti.com/en/product-resources/volume-purchase-plan-accord#lightbox=trp-calc-earrings

who is gonna wear these 💀
THOSE ARE MASSIVE EARRINGS THEY LOOK SO GOOFY (edit: i looked at them again, they're not that huge but still kind of large)
i literally almost fell out of my chair laughing when i saw the image
you should click the link to see more but here's an image anyways

side note: so not about the earrings, but the rewards program points, maybe you could track them on MyCalcs, like how many points you have earned (even if you don't have the cardboard ticket thing itself, it still tracks how many rewards points you have)
also make achievements for the rewards points? like 100+, 500+,250+ and you only own the ti brand of calculators, 500+ totalling from only nspires, 500+ totalling from only ce calculators, 500+ totalling from only z80 calcs, your ti calcs that have more then an average of 50 points each? (idk what to put but they all seem like decent options
i don't know maybe add those?
Well I've definitely seen people wearing TI calcs earrings 🙃

(sure, not exactly the ones you posted even though I happen to have those, my wife find them cute/fun 👀)

This is from someone at the T3 conference:

As for tracking things like this on MyCalcs, no, it wouldn't even count as accessories... because they aren't calculator accessories Razz
They were referring to tracking the calculators' point values on a profile page, and using those. I still feel that's a little silly though.

Edit: I looked at the page again, and this rewards drop was done all the way back in April. I have no idea if they have plans to do another, but it doesn't look like it. I also find it funny that a TI-15 Explorer costs the same amount of points as their other scientific calculators (except their 30XIIS, which is 5 points cheaper):

not as like accessories, i would just say count the amount of rewards points that you have earned as a statistic, eg it would say this user has earned 500 points on there page or something like that? It might be a bit tricky with older calculators not rewarding any and have ti only reward them, but a few achievements could be added from what i said earlier. I don't think that accessories from the actual rewards should be counted. Instead of counting the rewards points that the user actually has, just calculate how much they would have had assuming everything gave points and they redeemed nothing, and base the point achievements and statistics off of that value. (also it doesn't include scientific/elementary calcs)

edit: hydridegs, thats pretty much what i meant. i do think it's kind of silly, but it would be an interesting idea maybe
I've noticed Ti using those pillow calculators in their Youtube shorts online. Some of the shorts are very cringe though, in one a person dances out the four primary functions of a calculator and then dances with the pillow for a bit. We've come along way in the calculator sales department...
Will the pillow self destruct if I try to install ArtifiCE on it?

You MUST use Ti provided stuffing in the pillow. You cannot insert your own stuffing after purchasing the pillow no matter how uncomfortable you find it. Laughing
I totally want one of those pillows. Also Oxiti8 is not allowed to wear the earings because he has ArtifiCE.
install artifice on the earrings
