Hello,

I know that the TI-84+ calculator is using a simple form of paging.
But can somebody explain me whats the difference to paging used today in more modern processors.
And what are the similarities?

Thank you for your help!
Paging on the calculator uses physical addressing, paging on computers today uses virtual addressing.

What does that mean exactly?
Another homework assignment? Is there a page about this class online somewhere? I'm intrigued who might be teaching a class that includes a section on graphing calculators as simple computers.
Paging on a TI-84 Plus calculator refers to accessing a different part of the same RAM chip. iirc it also has something to do with accessing flash directly, but I’m not sure about that. But ultimately the calculator never ever uses Flash storage as RAM, at least with TI’s official code.

Paging on a modern computer refers to “adding more RAM” by “simulating” it with a file on the hard drive/Flash memory.
