I have a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition with the TA1 ASIC. Is it possible for me to overclock it? I used the pencil method on R07D, R08D, and in a last resort, R06D. Nothing changed. Anyone know why this isn't working? Any assistance is appreciated.
From my experience, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition isn’t really built for overclocking like that. The “pencil method” only works on some earlier models or specific revisions; newer ASIC revisions like TA1 are much more locked down. That’s probably why R07D/R08D/R06D didn’t do anything, there’s just no way to change the clock that way on your model. You’d basically need a hardware mod that isn’t really practical.
Very interesting. Can you post some pics? I was able to OC my ti 84+se with a trimpot. Literally just turned a dial and the speed increased
