I want to upload an animated screenshot of my calc screen to youtube for a 2D Minecraft showcase. How can I do that?
One option is to use ffmpeg:

If you're trying to put more content around the GIF, and you happen to use Windows Movie Maker, I believe that it understands GIFs.

Another option is to just use a screen recorder for your whole computer screen, then crop what you want to be in the video when you're editing.

That would work too! I'm enthused about OBS Studio, since that's also what I use for steaming games.
ShareX is freeware I believe and does a good job of screen recording - just turn off the hotkeys though.

Maybe record a APNG off of CEmu and find a website that will convert it to mp4 or another video format that you can upload? iirc, ezgif.com can do that, but I'm not sure. You might want to check that out, though
I've been thinking about improving visibility for calc screenshots on youtube by letterboxing with a black background like so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vR97MKDR-A
It doesn't look too bad, but it might be worth considering in some circumstances.

If you use ShareX you can record a certain area of your screen into a png, gif, or mp4 and then use that for anything you want. It's a pretty good tool for quick recordings.
If you are a Mac user like me, QuickTime Player has screen recording capabilities and comes with every mac.
