yep BGPIC's have the string "xLIBBG " (note the trailing space) and 32-Colour PIC's have "xLIB32C".

Is the string text, or is it a bunch of tokens? I never read the first line of my background AppVars, but if I had, would it make any sense?

It is just a string of bytes (ASCII).
