Recently I bought a TI-82 graphing calculator off of eBay. I also bought a Silver Graphlink Cable (which I later found out could not be used for linking the ti-82) and a black graphlink cable (9 pin serial port) to connect my calculator to my pc. I installed TiLP, but the calculator doesn't show up. Is there any other software that will work in windows xp for the TI-82? Please provide a link to the software download, or email it to me at
nshin313@outlook.com?
TILP works, you have to set the 82 into Receiving mode via the Link menu, then click on 'File' on the TILP menu bar, tell it you want to look for the silver link, and TI-82. From there, click the Send button, select the files you want to send to your calculator, ensure that the 82 has Receiving.. on the screen, and click 'open' from the send box, the files should all send to your 82.
* communication between the 82 and the computer works through a SilverLink. I've never used anything else for the purposes of communicating with a 82, as part of testing libti*/tilp.
* as tifreak wrote, unlike most other TI graphing calculator models featuring so-called "silent linking", the 82 (non-Stats) needs to be put in receive mode, and the "non-silent" functionality of TILP's UI needs to be used.

I did the steps you described, but it didn't work (or I did them wrong). Also when I set the 82 into receiving mode, it said waiting... instead of receiving... Also to clarify, I have the first version of the TI-82, the 1993 version that looks like:

Thank you.
Thank you for the advice on using the silver graph link cable. Idecided to try something else.
I borrowed a MacBook and downloaded TI-connect for the mac (I found out that ti-connect for mac supports the ti-82) Then I sent crash os v1.16, Pac man successfully.
However; when I tried to send Mario, mega man, and phoenix, the ti-82 displayed an xmit error on the screen. How do I fix this? Also I still could not get TILP to read the TI-82 with the silver graphlink cable.
I downloaded all the games and shells from ticalc.org

Did you use the "Receive variables from non-silent calculators" / "Send variables to non-silent calculators" buttons ?
