DwPrime v1 has been available since 2024, offering basic bitmap drawing features for the HP Prime.

This version 2 significantly extends that foundation with a broader toolset and refined workflow.

Drawing tools now include point, line, rectangle, circle, ellipse, polyline, eraser, and brush stamping.

Filled shapes, shading, and inverted-fill variants are available for rectangles, circles, and ellipses.

A dedicated selection tool supports copy, stamp, rotate, scale, mirror, move, and invert operations.

Text can be placed with or without a background, and a circular color picker handles palette selection.

Brushes are fully customizable and stored as compact RLE data, with binary and alpha (0-255) modes.

Transparency is handled consistently across drawing, fills, and selection operations.

Undo/redo is snapshot-based with a five-step history, cleared on exit to conserve storage.

The canvas supports zoom, a minimap, and two-finger touch panning for navigating larger images.

A file manager lists and paginates saved images, remembering the last-opened file automatically.

The interface is localized in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese.

A built-in tutorial and help screen are available directly on the calculator.

The app is written in MicroPython and optimized for the Prime's memory and performance constraints.

Important note for the DwPrime Python application: You must set the following parameters to their maximum values: heap: 16384 - stack: 640000

Feedback and bug reports are welcome as development continues.

Happy drawing!

If you seemingly can't be bothered to write about your program yourself and need to outsource it to a soulless piece of software, I can't be bothered to read it either. So I guess I'll show the same respect to you as you've shown to me.

What is DwPrime and why should I care?

Hello,

If you don’t understand what the software does, it’s because you can’t read—and besides, there’s a history on the hpmuseum website, which I specifically linked to!

So, to help you understand, this software is a bitmap drawing program that has its merits—and, most importantly, didn’t exist on this machine before January 2024 and couldn’t exist on other types of machines without using C or assembly language, which are increasingly restricted on programmable calculators.

This tool has the advantage of allowing you to directly create icons, sprites, and maps that can be used for many purposes on this calculator without having to switch back to a computer.

I also plan to release two other tools soon that will once again let you do things on this calculator without needing a computer.

Think what you will, but given the positive and constructive nature of your message, there’s no point in coming to the forums just to post comments like this that add nothing !

Note that you're here to lecture me on respect when you didn't even say hello!

Have a nice day.
@Tari: Maybe it's because you don't know about this project beforehand, and, well, is a bit too harsh on AI. I mean, maybe albud44 expected you to do research, not jump on them.

Actually, I don’t interact that much on the forums.
As for AI, yes, I use it because I’m not very comfortable with writing. Plus, as a French person, I’m one of those who has only a very basic grasp of English...
Because of that, I also have to switch back and forth between translations in both directions.

And honestly, rewriting the history all the way back to version 1.0 seemed like a tedious task to me.

So thank you in advance for your understanding.
Even before posting I was able to discover that this is a drawing tool (by looking at the first post in the linked thread), but I think I got my point across that if you can't be bothered to write something, I can't be bothered to read it. Given you've never posted about this program here before, it seems disingenuous to post about version 2 as if anybody has heard of version 1.

Hello,

This is the first time in my entire life that I’ve been called dishonest.

Sure, I’m a bit clumsy, and I’ve only been posting on forums since 2024—and this is the first time something like this has ever happened to me!

Honestly, this has blown up to such an extent that I’m appalled to be treated this way. I don’t even know how to post anymore because of this!

I was recommended by someone from Hpmuseum, and I followed their advice because they thought you might be interested in this type of software. That said, the advice didn’t cover how to post. And for the record, I admit I didn’t think about this version issue at all.

I never thought anyone would one day accuse me of dishonesty. What’s more, first you accuse me of disrespect, and now of dishonesty—and I find that personally hurtful.
I think my blunder is forgivable.

So, I have just one question: what do we do now?

Please note again that I’m using a translator!
I've edited the original post!
@Tari: Can't you to the very least be friendly and point them the right way?

Ah!
It looks like there's a communication issue.
Which path are we talking about?

I just edited the original text. If you scroll all the way to the top, you should see the change.
I wanted to let you know that it was Komame who recommended me and invited me to contact you about making my software available on your website.
You find yourself in the unfortunate position of being the first clear example of somebody acting in a way that I want to push back against, which is of using LLMs as a substitute for communicating with people. I believe forums such as this are for humans to communicate with other humans, and that there is no reason for anybody to be directly posting LLM output as a substitute. Taking a page from the recently-announced Rust LLM policy: It’s fine to use LLMs to answer questions, analyze, distill, refine, check, suggest, review. But not to create.

(This is not official forum rules, just my opinion on the matter and something of an explanation for how you became the target of my ire.)

I appreciate your revisions! I'd rather have unpolished things that somebody put care into making than slop that didn't have any thought put into it! You're quite welcome to continue sharing your work, and I hope I haven't scared you off because that wasn't my goal- I merely felt I had to make a stand for what I believe our community should be, and unfortunately that ended up having hostile tone. Having had even this interaction, I have no issue with you personally.

In any case, I've made my point and don't feel there's much more to be gained from continuing discussion of this particular matter- I'm quite happy to leave it to discussion of your program instead and don't anticipate I'll be paying attention to this thread given I have very little interest in the Prime; anybody is welcome to reach out to me privately if you feel there's anything more to discuss.
Uh, my post was a reminder to Tari that this site should be welcoming to everyone.

I'm really clumsy, and I have to admit that this situation threw me off a bit.

Actually, I’d like to start over on the right foot.

I suggest we continue discussing the benefits of the program, and if you have any questions...

I’ll make the program available again in the download section.

I have a question because I don’t know how to do it or if it’s possible to delete my post so I can repost it...
I have well understood that I have been misjudged deep down and that my software proposals will not be accepted, especially Tari strictly speaking.

I am not discouraged!

I am giving up because I am facing a form of fundamentalism!

Concerning the AI, these are my ideas and not the AI's that would have emerged all by themselves as if by magic!

I supervised the AI to achieve a result!

Moreover, I developed things well before AI and Tari was not yet born and above all, he is the age of my children!

An important detail: I propose software that everyone can modify and improve and I know that I am far from being perfect...

That is why constructive feedback is important!

In short, if technology scares you and I am addressing Tari, you shouldn't be on a site called Cemetech, or if you have the power, change the name!

In short, I'm done walking on eggshells!

Respect, you don't know it and you are brutal!

Not even a hello when one addresses you at the start of the day, and you talk about respect! You should be ashamed!

Once again, I wasn't discouraged, I was insulted by being called dishonest and disrespectful and that's the height of it, given the welcome.

Moreover, I don't read people's minds!

Tari is not worthy of this site, regardless of his track record!

He addressed me like a nobody and he does not honor your site!

I thank Jeff calc 84 for having reframed and tried to appease things, but apparently that is not enough to calm this ill-mannered individual!

I see that I will never be able to publish with you and I give up on it!

Fortunately, there aren't individuals like Tari everywhere!

Tari, there is a big difference between stating one's opinion and engaging in proselytizing by directly condemning someone who was just clumsy...

Apparently, there is only one person to tell you to be careful and yet you continued, which just goes to show the feeling of omnipotence that possesses you!

I salute the rest of the site's organization...
Uhhhhhh, didn't Tari welcome you anyway? We'd love a good project.
Seems like there's a very serious communication issue going on. ☹️
Hello,

Indeed, there is a communication problem and that is what I was saying a little earlier.

Now, I no longer know how to express myself in order to distribute a software application with you.

I just published yesterday a new software application on Hpmuseum which I named PrimeEdit. I leave you to discover its usefulness, in the same way as DwPrime. Namely, to provide tools directly usable on the Hp Prime without being obliged to constantly go back to a computer and to bring functionalities that are not found directly on the machine.

I am planning another software application to form a coherent set of software applications making it possible to make the use of the machine more pleasant without having to go through commands that have to be typed manually continuously on the machine.

I wish you a good day.
Hello,

Thank you for approving the software!
