What the heck is this thing? (AliExpress Calculator)

So I decided to go searching for some off-brand graphing calculators for fun. Most of them were Casio fx-6300G clones, a few were TX800 clones... but I found this one that was flat out bizarre.

Found on AliExpress, this appears to be a calculator with a backlit, colour screen... but at the same time, the listing mentions it being a phone. In fact, the name of the listing itself is confusing enough:

"H800 txt magic calculator 4G memory music video photo txt ebook student calculator with emergency button"



I'm just baffled by this thing. It seems to be a phone posing as a calculator, but I have no idea. What do you think?

4g calculator with music and an… emergency button? Gee I wonder if it’s approved on standardized testing… anyways, how did you even find that thing??? Were you just searching for calculators on aliexpress or what? Also I can’t view the page because im in china
The listing seems like it specifically says it's not a phone? "4G" seems to refer to the internal memory capacity.

Seems like they took a SoC designed for portable media players, extended the sample firmware with calculator functions, and stuffed it in a chassis with a lot more buttons than such a device would normally have.

I would guess it to be some android based thing, but that seems too expensive to support on something like a calculator...

I must've been mistaken, then... It's still such an oddity though.

By the way, this was from a search of "graphing calculator" on AliExpress.

If you or anyone buys it, I would be curious how many of those function buttons actually does anything, or if it's just a four-function calculator masquerading as more (e.g., if someone pays them to actually develop a device in this form factor).

I am considering buying one, but looking at the listing it is first and foremost an mp3 player, that happens to have calculator buttons and possibly some calculator functionality. It definitely isn't android based as it says that you can't look at pdf's or any file t type other than music and (I think) images.
I want to get one, but I think it will turn out to be supremely uninteresting

If the photo is actually of the product then I would be super skeptical considering some of these buttons look like they were added on using MS paint. I doubt it will even turn out to be a calculator.



This is one of those things you might purchase just to see what is inside and powering it (you could even do something interesting yourself with it) only to get it shipped to you and find out it is a calculator body missing many buttons and filled with disgusting half melted jelly beans.

I found it. I wouldn't recommend buying it for multiple reasons, including the VERY cheap look. https://24kupi.com/products/magic-calculator-v3
I saw this calculator last year or so and while it looked cool, it also looked sketchy due to the lack of a brand on it and it felt more like a player that happens to have basic calculations on it. I'd not be surprised if it was cheaply built as well. I'll wait for the Casio Graph Math+ Lycée, fx-CG100 or Zero...
